The first Digitool Balloon Instrument model 3 prototype of the DBI3, made its debut during the 2017 Albuquerque International Balloon festival. First sales during Albuquerque 2018. The concept is a sturdy but user- and ballooning-friendly, multifeatured FAA/EASA approved unit with an affordable price tag.

Does the DBI3U have a flight recorder?

Yes, there is a flight recorder inside the instrument, you can set it for automatically take off or manual set. You can also turn the flight recorder OFF if not needed.

You also have a preflight calculator if you are on a remote take off place to help you to plan your flight before take off.

Do Digitool have an app to connect the instrument to?

Yes, we have supported Balloonradar, it is the ONLY app that can connect the DBI3U to an app. More information is available outside our webpage at https://www.balloonradar.com/

How easy is it to mount and use in-flight?

The DBI3U is designed for quick mounting and operation. Every instrument is delivered with different values, if you want to change meters to feet or Fahrenheit to Centigrades it is very easy to do that.
